RECYCLE!!!

The Woodbury County Solid Waste Agency has changed the pick-up day to Wednesday's. You can recycle on December 2nd, 16th, and 30th. The change up is due to the large amunt of recycling material that is being picked up between Sgt. Bluff, Salix and Brown's Lake. Thanks for doing your part! Everyone in Salix and the Brown's Lake area can take advantage of this curbside service --- all you need is a recycle bin (available at city hall) and start recycling. The following items are acceptable:
Plastics - #1 - #7
Paper - cereal boxes, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, phone books, shredded paper
Cans - fruit & vegetable cans, beverage cans, coffee cans, tin & aluminum cans --- Please remove sharp lids, remove labels and rinse.

Appliances are accepted for a fee. All appliances and furniture can be brought to the landfill. Some forms of hazardous waste, like liquid paint or chemicals can be disposed of for a fee.
Note: Glass is no longer accepted.

If you have any questions, please call the Woodbury County Landfill at 712-873-3837

Garbage

Each residence is responsible for the care & maintenance of the garbage can. Leave room around the can for the automated arms to clasp the can. Place all your garbage in bags before placing in can. Do not put yard waste in cans. Large items such as tv's, furniture, etc. can be picked up during the semi-anual clean-up weekends.

Notice snowman

During ice and snow removal operations, the road crew needs access to the whole street. Please help make street clean-up faster and easier by being prompt in removing vehicles from the street.

Happy Holidays!
